The Castle Trophy sponsored by Stephens Catering Equipment was played for at Galgorm Castle Golf Club on a dry day with intermittent periods of sunshine. The course itself was in good condition thanks to the ground staff.
Division 1
At halfway Paul Wilson (2) was leading by two points from Peter McMullan (8). Sean McElroy (1) was close up another point behind. Through The Maple Wilson was still leading by two points over McMullan and McElroy. Over Beechers, Wilson had birdied the Devils Elbow and parred Beechers, increasing his lead to three points over McMullan (birdie, bogey). McElroy was another point behind after a par at the Devils Elbow followed by a bogey at Beechers. Wilson continued to lead over the closing three holes finishing par, bogey, par to win Division 1 by two points from McMullan (pars at the Grove and Lowlands and a triple bogey at Shirleys Cottage) and McElroy (bogey up the Grove followed with two birdies to finish). Second place went to McElroy with a better last three and third place to McMulan with a better last two.
The Gross was won by Michael Reid.
Division 2
After the Front Nine Jordan Dembinski (11) ('ding' at Broadmeadows) and David Halliday (10) were vying for the lead with Rod Lennox (10) close up a point behind. Approaching the Devils Elbow Lennox and Halliday were new leaders by four points over Dembinski ('ding' at The Maple). Lennox after a par at the Devils Elbow, a 'ding' at Beechers and a par at the Grove and Halliday (par and two bogeys) were leading but only by a point from an improved Dembinski with three pars. In a very close finish Rod Lennox with pars at the Lowlands and Shirleys Cottage won the Division by one point from Halliday (bogey, par) and Dembinski (bogey, birdie). Dembinski came second with a better last six and Halliday third with a better back nine.
Division 3
At The Fort tee Don McKeown playing off sixteen and Connor White (19) were four points clear of Samuel Campbell (17) and David Martin (16). After The Maple White was leading by three points from Campbell. McKeown ('ding' at Piat) was another two points behind with Martin a further point down. Up the Grove White maintained his lead with a par, 'ding' at Beechers and a bogey at the Grove by a point over an improving McKeown (birdie, bogey, par ). Campbell (bogey, double bogey, bogey) was another two points behind and Martin (par, double bogey, par) was a further point back. In another very close and exciting finish over the closing two holes White double bogeyed the Lowlands and finished with a bogey and was joined by McKeown (two bogeys) and Campbell (bogey and a par at Shirleys Cottage). First place went to Campbell with a better back nine. Second place was taken by McKeown with a better last six and White came third. A point behind came Martin (birdie, bogey) who won the Seniors (better last six).
Division 4
Setting off in the Back Nine twenty nine handicapper Gary Coulter was a clear leader by four points over Keith Wylie (24) and Richard Lennox (20). Ricky Faloon (37), 'ding' at at the Trout Hole and Colin Orr (24) (three 'dings' on the Front Nine) were a further one and two points respectively further behind. At the Devils Elbow tee Coulter was still leading from Wylie and Lennox by three points. Orr was three further points behind and Faloon ('ding' at the Piat) another two points down. Coulter bogeyed the Devils Elbow, 'ding' at Beechers and parred the Grove to lead by two points from Wylie (three bogeys), Faloon (two pars and a bogey) and Lennox (par, bogey, double bogey) were a further point back and Orr (par, double bogey, par) was another point away. Coulter held on with two double bogeys to WIN OVERALL by two points from Faloon (double bogey, bogey) and Wylie (two bogeys). Wylie finished the OVERALLRUNNER-UP and Wylie won Division 4 by two points from Richard Lennox (bogey, double bogey). Another point behind Orr (douible bogey, bogey) came third.
