The McCann Trophy sponsored by ACE Fixings was played as a two man team Greensomes at Galgorm Castle Golf Club. 

 

At half way R.Simpson and A.Proctor were vying for the lead with A.Pattioson,and J.Dembinski three ppoints clear of R.Steele and G.Robinson. A further point behind came the L.Darragh/G.O'Hagan and G.Small/B.Logan pairings. G.Tumilson and W.Rainey were another point back. Approaching the Devils Elbow R.Simpson and A.Proctorwere leading by two points from the A.Pattison/J.Dembinski and R.Steele/G.Robinson pairings. G/Tumilson and W.Rainey were another three points behind, followed by the G.Small/B.Logan and L.Darragh/G.O'Hagan partnerships a further one and two points respectively behind. Up the Grove Pattison and Dembinski with a birdie at the Devila Elbow, a par at Beechers and a bogey at the Grove had closed to within one point of the Simpson/Proctor partnership (bogey, par, bogey). Steele and Robinson (two bogeys and a double bogey) were another two points behind. Three points further back came the Tumilson/Rainey, Small/Logan and Darragh/O'Hagan partnerships. In a close finish the R.Simpson/A.Proctor pairing came home with a bogey at Lowlands and a par at Shirleys Cottage to Win the McCann Trophy by one point from A.Pattison and J.Dembinshi (par, bogey). Three points further back came an exciting finish for third place between the G.Tumilson/W.Rainey (par, birdie), R.Steele/G.Robinson (par, triple bogey), L.Darragh/G.O'Hagan (birdie, par) and G.Small/B.Logan (two birdies) combinations. Third place went to Tumilson and Rainey with a better back nine.

Kernohan holes 12th in 1

Congratulations to George Kernohan who holed his tee shot at the twelfth hole.

Through Longlands Brian Mahany (18) was leading by three points from James Campbell (24) ('dings' at Spences and Longlands). George Kernohan (11) ('ding' at Walkers Home) was a further two points behind. At The Maple Campbell had joined Mahany in trhe lead four points clear of Kernohan. Up the Grove Mahany (after a bogey at the Devils Elbow and pars at Beechers and the Grove) had improved his lead to five points over Campbell who recorded 'dings' at Devils Elbow and Beechers and a bogey at the Grove. Kernohan (three bogeys) wsas a further two points behind. Mahany finished with a double bogey down Lowlands and a bogey at Shirleys Cottage toWIN by three points from Campbell (par, bogey) in second place. Kernohan (two pars) finished a point outside the placings.

 

Front 9 Subsidiary Stableford

At Walkers Home David McIlroy (7) was leading by two points from James Mairs (5) and Harry Cook (7) was another point behind. Through The Treasury McIlroy, after a par at Walkers Home, bogey at Broadmeadows and a birdie at The Treasury was still two points clear of Mairs (par, bogey, birdie) with Cook (bogey, par, birdie) another point behind. McIlroy bogeyed the Sanctuary and parred Longlands to WIN by two points from Mairs (two pars) and Cook (two pars). Second place went to Cook with a better back nine.

 

Back 9 Subsidiary Stableford

At The MapleRyan Wiggins (8) held a two point advantage over Patrick McAleese (7) ('ding' at Arthurs Seat) and Jonny McIlroy (6). Over Beechers Wiggins (bogeys at the Devils Elbow and Beechers) held a two point advantage over McAleese (par, bogey). McIlroy (two bogeys) was another point behind. In a close finish McAleese returned with a par at the Grove, bogey down Lowlands and a par at Shirleys Cottage to WIN by one point from R.Wiggins (par, bogey, double bogey) with McIlroy (par, bogey, par) a further point behind.
