Back 9 (main competition) Division 1

Through The Maple Paul Hughes (3) was a point in the leade from George Small (1) with Colin Black (3) another point behind. Gary McWilliams (3) was a further point down. Up the Grove Black after recording a bogey at the Devils Elbow followed by two pars joined Hughes (bogey at Devils Elbow par at Beechers and a bogey at the Grove) in the lead. Small (three pars) was a point behind with McWilliams (bogeys at Devils Elbow and Beechers and a birdie up the Grove0 another point back. In a very close and exciting finish Black (bogey down the Lowlands and an eagle three to finish); Hughes (bogey, eagle three) and Small (par at Lowlands and an eagle three at Shirleys Cottage) finished together. First place went to Small with a better last six and second place to Black with a better last six. Hughes came third and McWilliams (par at the Lowlands and an eagle three at Shirleys Cottage) finished a point behind the placings.

 

Back 9 (main competition) Division 2

Approaching the Devils Elbow Shaun Stewart playing off a reduced handicap of five was leading by a point but being pushed hard by William Rainey (5), Harkness McCaughan (8) and Antony Blair (7). Over Beechers McCaughan (after two pars) joined Stewart (birdie at Devils Elbow followed by a par) in the lead. Rainey (two pars) was a point behind and Blair who ran into bogey trouble was a further thyree points down. In another divisional close finish Rainey returned with a bogey at the Grove, par at the Lowlands and an eagle three to win by one point from Stewart (par at the Grove, double bogey at the Lowlands and an eagle three) and McCaughan (par at the Grove, double bogey at Lowlands and an eagle three at Shirleys Cottage). McCaughan finished in second place with a better last four and Stewart third. Close up a point behind the placings came Blair with a birdie at the Grove a par at the Lowlands and an eagle three to finish.

Jamie Sutherland (-3) won the Gross with 22 pts.

Front 9

Gerard Lynn (7) held a one point advantage through The Niuc but was being closely followed by Ivan Alexander (4) and Paul Reid (4). Neil McVeigh (3) was another point behind. Alexander with the help of a par at Walkers Home followed by a bogey down Broadmeadows and a birdie at The Treasury was the new leader with two holes to play but he was being pushed hard by three golfers a point behind – Lynn (bogeys at Walkers Home, Broadmeadows and The Treasury; Reid (par, bogey, par at The Treasury) and McVeigh (par, double bogey at Broadmeadows and a birdie at The Treasury) . - In another very close finish Alexander came home with two pars and was joined by Lynn with a bogey and a birdie and McVeigh (birdie at the Sanctuary and an eagle three at Longlands. First place went to McVeigh with a better last three. Second place to Alexander with a better last six and third place to Lynn. Reid (pars at the Sanctuary and Longlands) finished a point behind the placings.
