Dallat Group May Medal

There was a good turn-out of golfers for the Dallat Group sponsored May Medal. The eventual OVERALL WINNER was Adam Doherty with a 63 Nett playing off a handicap of three. The RUNNER UP was Steven Carmichael (11) with a 65 Nett.

Division 1

At halfway Adam Doherty (3) was leading by one shot but being closely pressed by Tony Carroll (6), Sam Moorman (8) and ColeHenderson. At The Maple Doherty had increased his lead to three shots over Carroll. Henderson was another shot behind followed by Moorman a further shot back. Over Beechers Doherty, after a par at Devils Elbow and a birdie at Beechers had gained another shot over Carroll (two pars). Moorman (birdie at Devils Elbow and a par at Beechers) was another shot behind followed by Henderson (bogey, par). Doherty was playing some excellent golf and proving hard to catch and with a par at the Grove and birdies at Lowlands and Shirleys Cottage finished with a 63 Nett to WINOVERALL. Carroll (pars at the Grove, Lowlands and Shirleys Cottage) returned three shots behind Doherty with a 66 Nett to WIN Division 1 two shots ahead of Moorman (bogey, double bogey, par) with a 68 Nett. Another two shots behind in third place came Henderson (pars at the Grove and the Lowlands and finished with a birdie) for a 70 Nett. Patrick Dallat (-4) won the Gross with a 70 Gross.

 

Division 2

Through the Front 9 Neil McVeigh (10) and Steven Carmichael (11) were vying for the lead one shot ahead of Seamus McLoughney (9). Gary Crabbe (10) was another shot behind and Michael Greer (11) a further four shots back. Approaching the Devils Elbow Crabbe joined Carmichael in the lead by a shot from McLoughney. McVeigh was another shot back with Greer a further two shots down. Carmichael parred the Devils Elbow, Beechers and the Grove to open up a lead of two shots over Crabbe. McLoughney parred the Devils Elbow and Beechers and double bogeyed the Grove and McVeigh (bogeyed the Devils Elbow and followed this with two pars) were another shot behind. Two shots further back came Greer (par, double bogey at Beechers and a birdie up the Grove). Carmichael finished double bogey, birdie to take the OVERALL RUNNER UP placing with a 65 Nett. Crabbe with a par, bogey finish (68 Nett) WON Division 2 by two shots frolm McLoughney (par, bogey), McVeigh (two bogeys) and Greer (par, bogey). Second place went to McLoughney with a better back nine with McVeigh in third place. Greer won the Seniors with a 70 Nett.

Division 3

Brian Watt (16) was vying for the lead with Tony Dodds (18) through Longlands. Victor Orr (15) was two shots behind followed by Aaron Pattison (15) another two shots behind. Reaching Beechers Orr was the new leader by one shot from Watt. Dodds and Pattison were a further two and three shots respectfully behind. Orr with two pars continued to lead up the Grove but being hard pressed by Watt (par at Beechers and a double bogey op the Grove) and Pattison (par, birdie at the Grove a shot behind. Dodds (triple bogey, bogey)was a further four shots back. In a very close finish Watt with a par at Lowlands and a bogey at Shirleys Cottage returned a 70 Nett to WIN the Division by one shot from Pattison (bogey, par at Shirleys Cottage, Orr (bogeys at Lowlands and Shirleys Cottage and a fast finishing Dodds with two pars. Second place was taken by Pattison with a better back nine and Orr came in third with a better back nine. 

 

Subsidiary Stableford

Reaching The Fort Malcolm Sharpe (24) ('Dings' at Broadmeadows and Longlands) was leading by three points from Andrew Young (24) who was being hard pressed by Robert Barkley (21) ('Ding' at opening hole)and John McFarland (24) a point behind. Two points further back came Brian Telflord (19). At the Devils Elbow Sharpe ('ding' at The Maple) was one point ahead of Young. Barkley, McFarland ('ding' at The Maple) and Telford were another three points behind. Up the Grove Sharpe (double bogey at Beechers and a bogey at the Grove) was still a point in the lead from Young (double bogey, bogey). McFarland bogeyed Beechers and the Grove and Telford (par, bogey) were two points behind and Barkley (two bogeys) was a further point down. Barkley improved over the closing two holes with pars at Lowlands and Shirleys Cottage to WIN the Subsidiary Stableford by one point from Sharpe ('ding' at Lowlands and a double bogey to finish one point behind the winner along with Young (two double bogeys). Second place went to Young with a better back nine and Sharpe came third. Two points behind the placings came Telford (bogey. 'ding') and McFarland (two double bogeys).
