Coleman wins Dallat Group October Medal

Division 1

At half way Peter Houston (9) and Josh Nicholl (-1) were leading by one shot from Billy Cull (6). Patrick Coleman (11) and David Bamford (9) were another shot behind. James Taylor (9), Neil McVeigh (11) and Ricki Simpson (11) were a further one, two and four shots respectively behind. Through The Maple Cull was the new leader by a shot from Houston and Nicholl with Coleman and Bamford another shot behind. McVeigh was a further three shots back followed by Taylor and Simpson another one and three shots behind. |Cull parred the Devils Elbow, birdied Beechers and parred the Grove where he was joined in the lead by Nicholl who parred the Devils Elbow and followed with two birdies. Houston (bogey and two pars) was three shots behind and Coleman (par, bogey, par) another shot back. Bamford (bogey, par, bogey), Taylor (par, birdie, par), McVeigh (two pars and a bogey at the Grove) and Simpson (par at the Devils Elbow, birdie over Beechers and a par at the Grove) were one, two, three and four shots further back. In a close and exciting finish Coleman double bogeyed the Lowlands and finished with a par at Shirleys Cottage to WIN OVERALL with a 65 Nett. Cull (double bogey, par) and Houston (par at Lowlands and double bogey at Shirleys Cottage) finished together with a 66 Nett. Cull with a better back nine WON DIVISION 1 with Peter Houston second. Taylor (two pars) with a 64 Nett came third. McVeigh (par, double bogey) 68 Nett, Simpson (two bogeys) 69 Nett and Bamford (double bogey, bogey ) 69 Nett finished just outside the placings. Nicholl two pars) WON the Gross with 70 Gross. 

Division 2

Approaching The Fort David Stirling Sen. (14) was leading by three shots from James Kennedy O'Shea (15). Ryan Wiggins (18) was another shot behind with Jonny McIlroy (15) a further shot back. At the Devils Elbow Stirling Sen. Wwho was joined by Mcas still leading by three shots from O'Shea who was joined by McIlroy. Wiggins was another shot behind. Stirling Sen. parred the Devils Elbow and bogeyed Beechers and the Grove. McIlroy and O.Shea, each with three pars had closed to within one shot of the leader. Wiggins, pars at the Devils Elbow and Beechers and a bogey at the Grove, was another two shots back. Wiggins bogeyed the Lowlands and parred Shirleys Cottage to WIN with a 66 Nett. O'Shea (bogey, par) came second with a 67 Nett and McIlroy bogeyed the Lowlands and Shirleys Cottage to finish in third place with a 68 Nett. Stirling Sen. completed his round with a bogey and a double bogey to WIN the Seniors with a 69 Nett.

Subsidiary Stableford

Through Longlands Martin Abernethy (30) was leading by two points from Gareth Elliott (24) ('ding' at Spences) and Aidan Donnelly (25) ('ding' at the Trout Hole). William Rainey (21) and William McKigney (22) were another two points behind followed by Robin Ramsry (18) a further two points back. Coming to the Devils Elbow Abernethy was three points clear from McKigney ('ding' at The Fort). Elliott ('ding' at The Fort) and Ramsey were close up another point behind. Rainey and Donnelly were a further point down. At the Lowlands Elliott after three pars had closed to within one point of Abernethy (bogey at the Devils Elbow, a par at Beechers and a triple bogey up the Grove). Ramsey (par, bogey, par) and McKigney (par and two bogeys) were another two points back. Rainey (pars at Devils Elbow and Beechers and s bogey at the Grove) and Donnelly (bogey, par, bogey) were down a further point. Abernethy finished with a bogey and a 'ding' and held on to WIN by two points from Elliott (bogey at the Lowlands and a 'ding' at Shirleys Cottage) in second place. Another point behind there was a close finish for third place between Ramsey (bogey, double bogey), Rainey (two bogeys), Mckigney (double bogey, bogey) and Donnelly (bogey at Lowlands and a double bogey at Shirleys Cottage). Third place went to Ramsey with a better back nine.
