The Saturday Stableford Competition at Galgorm Castle Golf Club was sponsored by McAuley Freight and after a close finish between William Crawford, playing off a handicap of thirty two, and Andrew McCullough, playing off ten, the OVERALL WINNER was Crawford with a better back nine. and McCullough the OVERALL RUNNER-UP.

 

Division 1

Through the Front 9 George Tumlinson and Sam Graham, both playing with a handicap of ten, were vying for the lead a point ahead of Daniel Riley (3). Cameron Lappin (4) was another point behind. At The Maple Tumilson was leading by two points from Reilly and Lappin. Graham was another point behind. Approaching the Grove Tumilson (bogey at Devils Elbow and a par at Beechers) was joined in the lead by Lappin (par at Devils Elbow and a birdie over Beechers). Reilly (two pars) was a point behind followed by Graham (bogey, par) two points further back. Tumilson parred the Grove, bogeyed the Lowlands and finished with another bogey at Shirleys Cottage to WIN by two points from Lappin (par, bogey, par) in second place. Another point behind came Reilly (bogeyed the Grove and parred the final two holes) and Graham (par up the Grove and bogeys at Lowlands and Shirleys Cottage) and with a better back nine Daniel Reilly came third.

Liam Reilly WON the Gross with 36 Gr.Pts.

Division 2

At halfway Andrew McCullough (10) and Peter Daly (11) were vying for the lead two points clear of Andrew Moore (13). Caolan McCambridge (11), Connor White (13) and Michael Alexander (10) were another one, two and four points further behind respectively. Through The Maple Moore was the new leader by one point from McCullough. Daly ('ding' at The Fort) was another point behind. One, three and four points respectively further behind came White, McCambridge and Alexander. Approaching the Lowlands Moore ('ding' at Devils Elbow, par over Beechers and a bogey through the Grove) was joined by McCullough (two pars and a bogey) two points clear of Daly (three bogeys). White (par, 'ding' at Beechers, par at the Grove); M:cCambridge (pars at Devils Elbow and Beechers and a bogey up the Grove) and Alexander (three pars) were another point behind. McCullough finished with a bogey at Lowlands and a birdie at Shirleys Cottage to WIN OVERALL RUNNER-UP. Three points behind, Daly with a bogey and a par Won the Division by two points from Alexander (par at Lowlands and a double bogey at Shirleys Cottage) and White (two bogeys). Second place went to Alexander with a better back nine and White in third place. Another point behind the placings came McCambridge (double bogey, bogey) and Moore ('ding' down Lowlands and a double bogey).

 

Division 3

Through Longlands Robin Ramsey (18) was leading by a clear five points from Harry Cook (18) ('ding' at The Niuc). Patrick Reid (16) ('ding' at The Treasury) was another point behind with Jonny McIlroy (15) ('ding' at Longlands) and Ryan Wiggins (18) ('dings' at Broadmeadows and Longlands). At the Devils Elbow Ramsey ('ding' at The Maple) was four points ahead of Cook ('ding'at Piat) and an improving Wiggins. Reid and McIlroy were another one and two points respectively behind. Ramsey after a bogey at the Devils Elbow and double bogeys over Beechers and the Grove was still leading but only by a point from Wiggins (bogey, par, bogey). Reid (par and two bogeys) and Cook (par, double bogey, bogey) were another point behind. McIlroy (double bogey at the Devils Elbow followed by pars over Beechers and at the Grove) was a further point down. In a very close finish McIlroy with a par at Lowlands and a birdie at Shirleys Cottage WON DIVISION 3 by one point from Wiggins (two bogeys), Cook (bogey, par), Ramsey (double bogey, bogey) and Reid (bogey at Lowlands and a par at Shirleys Cottage) who finished together. Second place went to Ryan Wiggins with a better back nine and Reid taking third place with a better back nine, Cook Won the Seniors with 38 Pts.

Division 4

At the start of the inward half William Crawford, ('ding' at Arthurs Seat), playing off a handicap of thirty two held a one point advantage over David Rankin (26) ('ding at the Sanctuary). M:alcolm Sharpe (27) ('dings at Lillyvale and The Treasury) and Tom Wiggins (27) were another point behind followed closely by William Rainey (21) ('dings' at Lillyvale and The Niuc) a further point down. Approaching the Devils Elbow Crawford ( 'ding'at Arthurs Seat) was leading by two points fromSharpe, Rankin and Rainey. Three points further back came Wiggins ('ding' at Arthurs Seat). Sharpe joined Crawford in the lead after pars at Devils Elbow and Beechers to two bogeys from Crawford. Rainey (par, bogey) was a point behind with Rankin (par, double bogey) another point point back. Wiggins ('ding', bogey) was five more points further down. Crawford completed his round with double bogeys at the Grove and the Lowlands and a bogey at Shirleys Cottage to WIN OVERALL (better back nine). Sharpe (two double bogeys and a triple bogey) finished two points behind to WIN DIVISION 4 by one point from Rainey (bogey at the Grove, 'ding' down Lowlands and a par at Shirleys Cottage) in second place. Two points further back Rankin (double bogey, 'ding' at Lowlands, double bogey) came third. Tom Wiggins finished a point behind the placings.
