David Stirling wins RTU Stableford

Division 1

At the halfway stage Colin Steele (8) ('ding' at Longlands), Kurtis McCartney (2) and Vinnie Miskelly (1) were vying for the lead a point ahead of David Bamford (8) ('ding' at Longlands). Through The Maple Miskelly was leading by two points from Bamford. McCartney was another point behind with Steele ('ding' at The Fort) a further point down. Bamford, after pars at the Devils Elbow and Beechers and a birdie at the Grove, was the new leader by two points from Miskelly (par, bogey, double bogey) and McCartney (pars at the Devils Elbow and Beechers and a birdie up the Grove. Steele (three pars) was another point behind bur still in contention. In a very close and exciting finish over the closing two holes Bamford (two bogeys), McCartney (par, birdie), Miskelly (par, birdie) and Steele (par, birdie) finished together and with a better back nine Bamber held on to WIN the Division. Second place was taken by Steele with a better last three and third place went to McCartney with a better last six.

Jordan Hood (-5) won the Gross with 40 Pts.

Division 2

Through halfway Barry Agnew (12) was leading by one point from Norman Nicholl (10). Conor Nicholl (11) was another two points behind and Peter Houston (10) and Brian Maybin (10) were a further two points back. Approaching the Devils Elbow Agnew was holding a one point advantage over an improved Houston. N.Nicholl ('ding' at Piat) and Maybin were another point behind with C.Nicholl ('ding' at The Fort) two more points down. Agnew continued to lead by a point at the Lowlands after a par at the Devils Elbowand bogeys at Beechers and the Grove from Houston (two pars and a bogey). Maybin (a par at the Devils Elbow, 'ding' at Beechers and a birdie at the Grove) was another point behind. A further point back came N.Nicholl (bogeys at the Devils Elbow and Beechers followed by a par up the Grove) and C.Nicholl (bogey and two pars). Another close encounter lay ahead! Norman Nicholl improved and birdied the Lowlands and parred Shirleys Cottage to Win by one point from Agnew (double bogey and a bogey) and Houston (par at Lowlands followed by a double bogey at Shirleys Cottage). Second place went to Peter Houston with a better back nine and Agnew finished third. A point behind the placings came Maybin ('ding' at Lowlands and a birdie at Shirleys Cottage) and ConorNicholl (par, bogey). Derek O'Kane (13) won the Seniors with 38 Pts.

Division 3

After the Front 9 David Stirling (15) was one point ahead of Damian Heaney (19) with John Fitzgerald (18) ('ding' at Longlands) another point behind. Graham Martin (16), Alastair McKervill (16) ('ding' at Broadmeadows) and Connor White (15) were a further four, five and six points further down. Approaching the Devils Elbow Stirling was joined by Heaney ('ding' at Piat) in the lead. Fitzgerald was four points behind followed by White and Martin ('ding' at Arthurs Seat) three further points back. McKervill ('ding' at Arthurs Seat) was one more point down.. Stirling parred the Devils Elbow, bogeyed Beechers and double bogeyed the Grove to lead by one point from Heaney (two bogeys and a double bogey). Fitzgerald (double bogey, par, bogey), White (bogey and two pars), Martin (par and two bogeys)Sti and McKervill (bogey at Devils Elbow, par at Beechers and a bogey at the Grove) were three four, five and six points further behind. Stirling completed his round with two bogeys to WIN OVERALL by two points from Heaney (double bogey at the Lowlands and a bogey at Shirleys Cottage) who finished the OVERALL RUNNER-UP. White finished birdie, bogey to win Division 3 by three points. Second place went to Fitzgerald who finished with a bogey at the Lowlands and a 'ding' at Shirleys Cottage. Another point behind came Martin (bogey, double bogey) and McKervill )two bogeys). Third place went to McKervill with a better back nine.

Division 4

At the start of the Back 9 Andrew McKillop (20) was leading but being hard pressed for the lead by Norman McKernan (29) and Trevor Galloway (25). M:alcolm Sharpe (27) was another five points behind after ;dings' at Spences, Walkers Home and Broadmeadows. Through The Maple McKernan, McKillop and Galloway were vying for the lead three points ahead of an improving Sharpe. At the Grove McKernan after recording a par at the Devils Elbow, a bogey at Beechers and a triple bogey at the Grove was leading by a point from Galloway ('ding', par, bogey). McKillop (bogey, double bogey, bogey) was another point behind and Sharpe (par, bogey, triple bogey) was a further point down. McKernan completed his round with a double bogey at Lowlands and a triple bogey at Shirleys Cottage and held on to WIN the Division by a point from McKillop (two bogeys) and Sharpe (two bogeys). Sharpe finished second with a better back nine and McKillop third. Galloway (double bogey, triple bogey) was a point behind the placings.
