Club Professionals' Day win for Moore

There was a good turn-out of golfers for the Annual Club Professionals' Day at Galgorm Castle Golf Club hoping to do well and finish among the prizes. The weather was very favourable with plenty of sunshine throughout the day' Congratulations to Ross and the other Club Professionals for the making of an enjoyable day. Congratulations also to the greenkeepers for having the course in such good condition.

At halfway Cory Moore (24) and Gary Crabbe (11) were vying for the lead one point ahead of Nathan Scullion (7). Aaron Pattison (17) and Matthew Harkness (5) were another point behind. Harry Cook (14), Mark Dunlop (3) and Peter O'Loughlin (21) were a further point down. 

Through The Maple O'Loughlin was leading by a point from Harkness. Crabbe was another point behind, followed by Dunlop and Pattison a further point down. Moore, Scullion and Cook were one more point in arrears. Crabbe with pars at Devils Elbow, Beechers and the Grove improved and was the new leader of the very competitive challengers Moore (par, birdie, bogey at the Grove) and O'Loughlin ('ding' , bogey, par at the Grove) were trying hard for the leadership a point behind. Pattison had improved with pars at Devils Elbow and Beechers and a bogey up the Grove to within two points of the leader. Dunlop (birdie at Devils Elbow, bogey at Beechers, par at the Grove) and Harkness (bogey, par over Beechers, double bogey at the Grove) were another point behind. Scullion (three pars) and Cook (two pars and a bogey at the Grove) were a further point down. 

In a pulsating and exciting final two holes Crabbe (two bogeys) and Moore (birdie at Lowlands, double bogey at Shirleys Cottage) finished together and with a better last six Cory M:oore was the OVERALL WINNER with Crabbe in second place. Two points behind came Pattison (two bogeys) and Scullion (birdie at Lowlands, par) with third place going to Pattison with a better back nine. The final four placings were hard fought for between Cook (bogey at Lowlands, par at Shirleys Cottage), Dunlop (two pars), O'Loughlin ('ding', bogey at Shirleys Cottage and Harkness (two pars) who finished together. In fifth place came Cook (better , sixth place Dunlop (better last six), seventh place O'Loughlin (better back nine) and Harkness (better back nine).

Vincent Miskelly (|Scr) won the Gross with 36 pts. and the Seniors was won by Stephen Logan (10 ) with 38 pts..

Other prizes included Nearest the pin and Longest drive.
