Division 1

At the halfway mark Billy Cull (5). Matthew Harkneaa (4), Matthew Weir (3) and Bryan Logan (8) were equal on points, vying for the lead. Through The Maple Cull was leading by two points but being pressed for the lead by Harkness ('ding' at Arthurs Seat) and Logan. Weir was another point behind. Cull , after a 'ding' at at Devils Elbow, par at Beechers and a birdie up the Grove held on to the lead by one point from Harkness (pars at Devils Elbow and over Beechers and a birdie at the Grove). Logan (bogey at Devils Elbow and pars at Beechers and the Grove) was another point behind and Weir (bogey at Devils Elbow, birdie at Beechers and a bogey at the Grove) was a further two points back. In a close finish Cull parred Lowlands and Shirleys Cottage to WIN the OVERALL RUNNER-UP placing. A point behind, Harkness finished with two pars to WIN Division 1. Weir (par, birdie at Shirleys Cottage) and Logan (par, double bogey at Shirloeys Cottage) finished together and with a better last six Weir came second and Logan third.

Jonathan McNeill (Scr) Won the Gross with 37 gr.pts and Rod Lennox Won the Seniors with 38 pts.

 

Division 2

Approachinhg The Fort Paul Reid (12) was leading by one point but being hard pressed by Aidan O'Kane (10), John McCarry (11) and Graham Simms (13) for the lead. Stuart Marks (10) was another two points behind. At the Devils Elbow Reid was the new leader by two points from O'Kane, Marks and Simms. McCarry (@'ding' at Piat') was a further point behind. At the Grove Reid (bogeys at Devils Elbow and Beechers and a double bogey up the Grove) was joined by O'Kane (pars at Devils Elbow and Beechers and a bogey at the Grove) were being hard pressed by Marks (par at Devils Elbow, bogeys over Beechers and the Grove), McCarry (par at Devils Elbow, bogeys at Beechers and the Grove) and Simms (three bogeys) for victory a point behind. In another close finish O'Kane returned with a bogey at Lowlands and a birdie at Shirleys Cottage to Win the Division by one point from Reid (bogey at Lowlands and a par Shirleys Cottage. Another point behind came Marks (par at Lowlands, bogey at Shirleys Cottage), McCarry (bogey, par) and Simms (bogey, par). Third place went to Marks with a better back nine.

 

Division 3

At The Fort David Gault playing off sixteen was two points ahead of Jonny Halliday (14). David McAleese (14), Don McKeown (17) and Jack Dunseith (16) were another point behind. Damian Gillan (17) was a further three points back. Through Devils Elbow Dunseith with three pars and two bogeys was the new leader by two points over Gault. Halliday ('ding' at Piat) was another point behind with Gillan and McKeown ('ding' at Piat) a further point back. McAleese was another point down. Down the Lowlands Dunseith with a bogey at Beechers and a par at the Grove had increased his lead over Gault (double bogey at Beechers and a bogey up the Grove) to four points. Halliday (double bogey at Beechers and a par at the Grove) was also four points behind the leader. A further point back came Gillan (par at over Beechers and a double bogey at the Grove) with McKeown (par at Beechers,'ding' at the Grove) down another point. Dunseith finished with two pars to WIN OVERALL. Three points behind came Gault (bogey down the Lowlands and a par at Shirleys Cottage) to WIN Division 3 by one point from a very close and exciting finish for the placings between Halliday (double bogey at Lowlands and a par at Shirleys Cottge), McAleese (par at Lowlands, bogey at Shirleys Cottage), Gillan (birdie at Lowlands and a bogey to finish) and McKeown (two pars). Second place went to Gillan with a better back nine and third place to McAleese with a better last three.

 

Division 4

At the start of the Back 9 Andrew Robinson (21) had a three point advantage over Cory Moore (22) ('ding' at The Niuc) and Malachy Graham (25). Harkness McCaughan ('ding' at Longlands) was another three points behind. At The Maple Robinson was joined in the lead by Moore , seven points clear of Graham('ding' at Arthurs Seat) and McCaughan. Approaching Lowlands Moore (bogeys at Devils Elbow and Beechers and a double bogey at the Grove) was leading by one point from Robinson (bogeys at Devils Elbow and Beechers, 'ding' at the Grove). McCaughan (par at Devils Elbow, bogey at Beechers, double bogey at the Grove) andGraham (par at Devils Elbow, bogey at Beechers and a double bogey up the Grove) were another four points behind but closing. Moore (two double bogeys) and Robinson (bogey at Lowlands and a double bogey to finish) returned with equal points. Moore WON Division 4 with a better back nine. Two points behind came McCaughan (two bogeys) and Graham (two bogeys) and third place went to McCaughan with a better back nine.
